Grades 1st & 2nd
Description: Skill-building sessions that emphasize fundamental elements of soccer, teamwork, and joy. Ripples players will learn essential soccer techniques such as dribbling, passing, and shooting while enjoying interactive drills and games that foster teamwork and sportsmanship.
Details:
- FALL program runs from end of August 23/24 to November 2
- WINTER program runs January to February (See WINTER Futsal)
- SPRING program runs from mid-March to first weekend in June (See Spring Registration)
- Practices are once a week, for 1-hour (typically @4pm or 5pm)
- One weekend game on Saturday or Sunday
- Game formation:
- 1st grade: 4v4 | No Goalie | Two 20-minute halves
- 2nd grade: 5v5 | With Goalie | Two 20-minute halves
- Team size: 4v4 = 6-8 players | 5v5 = 7-9 players
- Location: Local Emeryville or North Oakland fields. For Spring, we will practice at Emeryville Center of Community Life (ECCL) Athletic Field, and East Bay German International School (EBGIS).
