We play futsal (indoor) in January and February.

What is Futsal? Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced small sided soccer game that is played across the world. It is a 5v5 (including a goalie) small-sided game played on a hard surfaced, basketball sized court with a smaller, low bounce ball. Futsal is played with touchline boundaries (no throw-ins, just kick-ins) and without walls. It’s a great way to develop technical skills, quick reflexes, fast thinking, and precise passing.

FORMAT

Girls, Boys or Coed Teams for Kindergarten to 8th graders
Teams of 6-8 players
20-30 minute warm-up led by licensed, professional coaches
Coaches are assigned to gym locations, NOT to a team
5v5 game (including a goalie) with two 20 minute halves

LOGISTICS

Dates: Saturdays or Sundays from January 3rd to February 22nd (no weekday practices)

Games will be held on Presidents’ Day Weekend February 14-15

Location: North Oakland / Claremont Middle, other Albany or Berkeley gyms

Schedule: Posted late December once registration closes

Uniform/Gear:

Wear Emeryville Soccer Club uniform or practice shirt (provided if NEW player)
Shin guards are required
Good tennis shoes / indoor / turf shoes (NO CLEATS!)
